The miles vs cash back debate is interesting and never-ending.
There is no one formula that fits everyone π
You will have to assess and evaluate for yourself what works best for you.
Sometimes, special promotions/deals come up and they are too good to resist. e.g. Chocolate Finance debit card rewarding miles. Follow the relevant influencers to keep up-to-date.
Technically speaking, I should be chasing miles as many influencers would note with my big family of 3 kids.
But I do not combine spent with spouse, etc and I live like really simple π. Of course, we should still spend on the kids π.
I can't meet many credit cards cashback minimum spending per month for maximum rewards. Especially when they exclude government bills, utilities, etc π . Another issue is that a lot of coffee shop, small shops, value shops, etc only support PayNow.
If it's possible to meet $800 in a month, I may attempt to use Maybank Family & Friends cashback card.
